System redesign and new custom product help to achieve sewer bylaw compliance
January 10, 2014 — A local food producer was struggling with high levels of phosphate in their wastewater until they commissioned a system redesign by JNE Environmental. JNE Environmental spent almost a month custom developing a new product, JNE 2020, which works in conjunction with products JNE 281 and JNE 3003, and is capable of consistently meeting the city sewer bylaw for phosphate discharge. Due to production issues there was great schedule pressure. JNE designed, supplied and commissioned the entire system in less than two months.
The new JNE Environmental supplied system has improved treatment efficiency, to less than 10 mg/L phosphorous. It has reduced the required operator manpower requirements by two full-time equivalents, and increased the wastewater treatment systems capacity by fifty percent. This project demonstrates JNE’s commitment to achieving solutions for their clients. Not only did they design and supply a full 30 gpm system capable of treating incoming wastewater with a TSS of ~7000 mg/L, they specifically developed a new product “JNE 2020” to achieve this.
