April 17, 2017 — A company that processes and digests food wastes was not able to remove enough solids from their incoming slurry prior to entering a large centrifuge.  This resulted in process instability in their anaerobic digester system.  JNE has since tested a new dry polymer product tailored to the separation of high solids wastewater for anaerobic digesters.

Testing involved lab trials of various dry polymer formulations with samples of the customer’s incoming feed stream.  After observations of multiple experiments, we proceeded to simulate the centrifuge on a lab scale.  The best candidate achieved 90%+ solids removal.  We are currently developing online process protocols that will allow JNE to monitor the customer’s wastewater treatment system from a remote location.
