A customer that makes a resin used in everything from billiard balls to countertops needed help removing high concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from their air emissions.  Using the resources at our Burlington facility, we custom-designed, built, and operated a high-temperature catalytic oxidation Pilot Plant to test its effectiveness in treating hazardous air pollutants.

We made numerous changes to our Pilot Plant during this process, making constant adjustments and experimenting with data-collecting technologies to create the best possible VOC treatment solution for our customer. Our Pilot Plant delivered exceptional results, achieving complete destruction of harmful pollutants such as Phenol, Formaldehyde, Ammonia, and Ethanol.  The success of the Pilot Plant trial run ultimately led to an opportunity to design a full-scale treatment system.
