May 17, 2018 — The JNE Group of Companies turned out in full force to participate in this year’s Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Bowl for Kids’ Sake. The occasion draws friends, family, and co-workers together for an evening of bowling in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs for local children and youth facing adversities. This year’s event, an ’80s themed rock’n’roll night entitled “Rock’n’Bowl”, was the second the second consecutive year attended by JNE.

For JNE, this year’s participation was a culmination of several fundraising events held earlier in 2018. At the outset of 2018, an initiative was set to host a series of company-wide potlucks and barbecues to raise funds to sponsor a team, comprised of both JNE and TCE employees. With these events proving to be a fundraising success, JNE was able to sponsor three teams to participate in this year’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake. In addition to the JNE sponsorship, every player on each team was encouraged to individually raise pledges to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.

In true JNE spirit, friends, family, and co-workers alike showed up to enthusiastically support our teams. The night was interspersed with food, trivia, giveaways, and prizes for best-dressed teams. In addition to a bevy of strikes and spares, JNE and TCE were once again noted for team spirit and cheerleading, mainstays at any event.

In total, JNE raised $1,575 in donations, contributing to a $13,400 grand fundraising total for the night. Bowl for Kids’ Sake events have raised over $45,000 throughout 2018 so far, all in support of youth mentoring programs across Canada.  JNE and TCE look forward to sponsoring and attending many more of these events in the months and years to come!
