October 28, 2018 —  The McMaster Engineering Competition (MEC) is a two day competition that gives undergraduate students from McMaster University a chance to demonstrate engineering skills in a competitive environment, as well as receive the professional counsel of mentors from a variety of companies.  Competitive categories include Junior and Senior Design, Re-Engineering, Programming, Consulting, Parliamentary Debate, Communications, and Innovative Design.

JNE Consulting is proud to sponsor an event that allows students to demonstrate the application of the knowledge they are gaining in the classroom. In addition to sponsoring the event, two JNE team members participated on the judging panels of the Consulting and Re-Engineering categories.

Both challenges saw teams of students working together to develop and present logical solutions to given case studies.  The solutions were then presented as a report to a panel of judges who assessed the effectiveness of the solutions based on specific criteria.  The panel then selected the top three presentations from the lot.

The event was a success that encouraged teamwork to further develop their engineering and problem-solving skills in a competitive environment, with the opportunity to interact and network with engineering professionals.
