Sales Manager

The JNE Group of Companies is a progressive, multi-disciplinary engineering services firm based in Hamilton, Ontario with offices in Pittsburgh, PA and Detroit, MI.

Our company provides clients with all the components necessary for successful project completion, including preliminary studies, project design, construction, and project management, process implementation, and complete commissioning.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Sales Manager for our Pittsburgh office.  Join our experienced and specialized teams that work globally with a diverse client base — from concept through to engineering and procurement, as well as construction and project management services.  The successful candidate’s roles, responsibilities, and skills will include:

Role and Responsibilities

  • Drives revenue growth to plan for JNE Group in assigned client base and geography consisting of Mid Atlantic, Great Lakes, and Mississippi Valley Regions
  • Develops and executes an industry-specific JNE sales strategy for Metals and Chemical industry account base
  • Ensures early positioning of JNE in capital projects and participates in defining a winning strategy in conjunction with the engineering discipline leads and Project Manager
  • Takes a lead role in identifying bid direction, strategy, and preferred commercial options
  • Develops sound technical and commercial proposals by understanding the Client’s needs and requirements and positioning JNE’s solution appropriately, supported by engineering and project management staff
  • Liaison between technical staff and client to help resolve issues, find positive solutions, and provide ongoing support
  • Maintains regular contact with Client decision making teams to ensure high levels of satisfaction with ongoing work and to keep abreast of any potential new business opportunities
  • Owns and maintains Client profiles, identifying key decision makers in current and target clients, along with an execution plan to support them by the appropriate JNE personnel
  • Establishes relationships with key Client decision makers, communicates effectively with them in order to properly understand their needs and informs them of the various solutions the JNE Group of Companies has to offer
  • Analyze business risk and develop risk mitigation strategies to manage revenue growth
  • Represent the company in negotiations, networking, talks, and other official functions with the client
  • Participate in networking opportunities to promote JNE Group services
  • Regularly uses CRM tools to drive business growth and align with the JNE teams on opportunities and client business

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • University Degree in an Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • P.E. or PMP or other Sr. Designation an asset
  • 10+ years’ experience in a Technical / Project / Sales role
  • Understanding of engineering and construction principles
  • Understanding of business and project management principles
  • Specialization in Metals / Chemical industry an asset
  • Must be able to travel in territory (25–40% of time)
