About the Role

We are seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor to join our Hamilton office. This role will oversee health and safety programs for both JNE Consulting and Triple Crown Enterprises. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across our engineering and construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, Manage, and Maintain Safety Programs:

  • Oversee the health and safety (H&S) programs, policies, and procedures for both JNE and TCE; including TCE’s COR™ Certification.
  • Conduct annual reviews and updates to ensure alignment with regulations and industry best practices.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure adherence to internal standards and external safety regulations for both companies.
  • Create and present safety metrics and recommendations to the Executive Teams.

Training and Development:

  • Manage and deliver safety training programs, including confined space, fall arrest, WHMIS, and forklift certifications.
  • Guide employees and managers on their safety responsibilities.

Project and Field Support:

  • Support bid preparation with safety documentation and pricing considerations.
  • Develop and manage Site Safety Management Plans for engineering and construction projects.
  • Perform field audits, job safety analyses, and risk assessments.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze safety metrics and implement improvements to enhance safety performance.
  • Promote proactive and positive safety communication across both organizations.

Incident Management:

  • Lead accident investigations and support WSIB and disability management processes.
  • Maintain safety-related records and ensure timely resolution of safety issues.

Legislation and Best Practices:

  • Stay updated on health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance across both companies.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 5–10 years of dedicated H&S experience, including construction field safety.
  • Post-secondary education in a safety-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Construction safety designation (e.g., CHSO) preferred.
  • General safety designation (e.g., CRSP, CHSC) an asset.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, etc.
