About the Role
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Hamilton office. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to grow their career within a dynamic and expanding organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting HR functions, fostering employee engagement, and driving initiatives that enhance workplace culture and efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary support for staff on HR functions, including employee programs, employment legislation, and company policies, ensuring fair and consistent application across the JNE Group of Companies.
- Champion JNE’s culture by fostering employee engagement, strengthening work relationships, and boosting morale.
- Drive HR initiatives and implement innovative solutions to support business objectives.
- Lead employee engagement surveys, analyze data, and prepare presentations for management.
- Develop and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and presentations on HR-related initiatives.
- Manage administrative HR tasks, including offer letters, onboarding paperwork, and employment verification letters.
- Ensure HR policies remain current and compliant with company and legislative changes.
- Support JNE’s Talent Management Process, including performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.
- Maintain and update the HR section of the JNE intranet (SharePoint).
- Prepare accurate and timely HR reports, including employee data and ad hoc requests.
- Oversee leave of absence administration and provide return-to-work support.
- Manage various employee programs such as the Employee Referral Program and Educational Assistance Plan.
- Maintain HRIS and other HR systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- University degree or College diploma in related field is preferred;
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management an asset;
- 1-3 years of experience in an administrative capacity and multi-support function is required;
- 1-2 years of Human Resources related experience required;
- HRIS administration experience an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.) an asset.
