We are seeking a talented Senior Electrical Designer to join our dynamic Engineering Team. If you’re passionate about designing cutting-edge electrical systems and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Position Overview

As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will bring your expertise in electrical and equipment design to our team. Leveraging engineering principles, technical knowledge, and industry standards, you will design, draft, and lead the development of innovative electrical solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to adhering to all applicable regulations, industry standards, and company practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and draft comprehensive electrical plans, including single-line diagrams, schematics, cable tray routing, embedded conduit plans, grounding layouts, and installation details.
  • Develop and oversee electrical room layouts, cable and conduit schedules, and related templates.
  • Perform calculations for conductor and ground sizing based on NEC requirements, as well as cable tray and conduit fill.
  • Lead the generation of AutoCAD drawings for various projects.
  • Review and validate the work of other Designers/Drafters.
  • Serve as the Electrical Design Lead on assigned projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs seamlessly across foundations, structures, piping, and other areas.
  • Maintain precision and accuracy in all deliverables while meeting project demands.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of electrical and I&C design experience, preferably in the steel, metals, or chemical industries.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC).
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
    • Extensive experience in designing industrial electrical systems and performing ampacity and voltage drop calculations.
  • Collaboration Skills:
    • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams of Designers/Drafters.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem Solving: Adept at resolving complex design challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Cross-Discipline Knowledge: Understanding of related disciplines such as foundations, structures, and piping.
