Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (P.Eng.)

Join our Hamilton office as a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (P.Eng.) and become a key player in a dynamic, growing team of professional engineers and designers. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects while advancing your leadership and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership:
    • Scope, estimate, and prepare proposals for structural projects.
    • Serve as the structural lead on complex projects, supervising teams of 5+ engineers and designers.
    • Oversee and ensure the successful execution of multiple projects, maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship:
    • Work closely with other engineering disciplines and project managers.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to structural staff at all levels.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Develop engineering deliverables, including Basic, FEL, and FEED designs.
    • Apply extensive knowledge of Canadian and American codes and standards for foundations, structures, and building design.
    • Design steel and concrete structures, foundations, and execute projects in existing (brownfield) facilities.
    • Deliver technical reports and recommendations for rehabilitation and reinforcement of structures.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Understand and integrate construction practices into designs.
    • Utilize basic 3D modeling and CAD drafting practices.

Preferred Skills and Experience

While not mandatory, the following skills are highly valued:

  • Basic architectural knowledge related to building layouts.
  • Experience in the steel industry.
  • Knowledge of building codes, classifications, and safety requirements.
  • Site planning expertise for industrial facilities.
  • Stormwater management, grading, and drainage design.
  • U.S. Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation.
  • Project management capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (University Level).
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • P.Eng designation (Canada) is required.
