Copper Smelting Facilities Control Systems Upgrade
Upgrades to Control Systems and Sulfuric Acid Plant
A major engineering company was contracted to upgrade the copper smelting facilities and sulfuric acid plant at a large copper mine in Serbia. Siemens Canada was awarded the contract to provide the control system for this project including the design and programming. JNE was subsequently awarded the contract by Siemens to provide all of the control system panels consisting of PCS-7 equipment, including:
- 9 Remote I/O Panels
- 4 Processor Panels
Together with the engineering company and Siemens Canada, JNE Automaton staged the complete control system and verified the functionality of the system with a complete factory acceptance test at the JNE Panel Shop in Hamilton, Ontario. JNE completed the design and drawings of the panels in both English and Serbian, adhering to the Serbian regulatory codes. The programming of the control system and the human machine interface (HMI) screen design were also provided in both English and Serbian.
JNE then provided start-up and commissioning services at the plant facility in Serbia.
JNE Automation works on a global level to equip clients with new installations, upgrades, and retrofits that result in improved process control, yield, and lower costs. Visit JNEGroup.com/Automation to learn more.
