JNE Automation was contracted by Siemens Canada to provide all of the control systems panels for a large-tonnage, long-life nickel and cobalt mining enterprise in Madagascar.

The mine is the largest foreign investment in Madagascar and one of the biggest in the sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean region. It continues to rank among the largest lateritic nickel mining entities in the world.

Siemens Canada was awarded the contract by a major engineering company to provide the control systems for this project. The company provided the design and programming for the control systems with assistance from Siemens Canada.
